Most regionals could make this work. Or 703/704 gigs flying floats or something like a Twin Otter

They would shut down PAL tomorrow if they opened a YYT base.

Most flight schools should be able to do it quickly for you. Call up the nearest FTU and see what they charge.

None of the 300's are being retired. This is growth.

It's a trade off, crappy weather for easy ATC. Direct destination everywhere but severe icing and windsheer.

Re: Sky regional 2.0

They do want captain candidates and you should be in that based on your credentials. I don't understand HR departments quite frankly. A friend a couple years ago was asked by a jazz HR rep to upload their saron and samra results. After uploading the jazz rep advised they were expired, and to update...

If three years ago counts as recent. I loved it, spent three weeks for my MIFR. Cost me about $14k if I remember with renting a room and food.

Re: feeling a bit lost

Your house being a burden all depends where you live. Small town New Brunswick? Yeah you're pretty screwed unless you're cool with instructing at MFC your whole life. Live in the GTA? You could reasonably have your entire career and never go up north working the ramp. I started my training when I wa...

I'm just curious how these FO's after all this is said and done are ever going to upgrade?

Is Flair bringing in a PICUS program on the 737 like the Europeans? Or are these bright-eyed FO's stuck in the right seat forever?

Right now I'd go captain on the Pilatus. Do that for a year. In a year you can re-evaluate, if you hold a visa? Great you go to the States. If not, you go DEC at Jazz in Toronto.

Depends on where you're flying. You might be on a company freq, clearance delivery to get your clearance, then contact ground/ramp for your pushback, then ground to taxi then tower holding short.

I assume you're going to a regional?

Re: First Interview

Is it for Pilot in Waiting? If so, show up with a pulse and you'll get an offer. But seriously avoid anything that's PIW, it's degrading and it's a career trap. If it's for an FO job, then I'd review the CAP GEN and know your alternate minimums, basic IFR knowledge etc. Put on something with a collar.

Todays hiring environment? It's still garbage for low hour guys.

There's a pilot shortage of ATPLs with 3000 hours, not 250-750 hour guys who got screwed over the last couple years with covid.
