Sim Hours
How do you log your simulator hours, besides the Registration number? Do you put the name of the device, brand, FTD, PFC, Level 5, etc. Just Curious.

Re: Harvs Air / Pilottraining ATPL ground school
I don't thing you need the Groundschool. You can get the information from other books and sites and if you already have CPL then probably there won't be too much of a difference. They basically take information from other free sources such as the FAA, put it in a different format and make you pay fo...

Re: Online Ground School
Didn't you just ask this in another thread? TC requires 40 hours of classroom-style groundschool. The various online groundschool's are approved by TC in respect of this requirement. One-on-one with an instructor before each flying lesson is *not* groundschool - it's called PGI - preparatory ground...

Re: Online Ground School
Hi, can someone explain to me how the online ground school works? It is approved by TC? You will only go to the school to rent a plane and pay for dual hours, or do you still need to get one on one instructor groundschool? Theres is also preparatory ground school, is that the same as ground school a...

Re: Instructor Rating - PGI
Thanks for the response, So basically the PGI is to cover what you will see during the flight right? Whats the length of the PGI and how often do you have it as a student?photofly wrote:The online course is groundschool. PGI with the instructor is part of the flight training portion, and is mandatory.

I'm taking an online course for PPL, is the PGI with the instructor still mandatory? Its a one on one, but I thought that the online course would replace it.

Re: Weather in Provinces of Canada
This is a big country! No region has "the best weather all year round". The prairies have decent weather, though some would dispute that. It wasn't chosen as a training venue during the war for no good reason. BC has good weather? Well, BC has the greatest variety of topography and weather of any p...

Besides all information regarding the school, can someone provide information about living either St.Andrews or Steinbach? Which one is easier to live in, and which one is easier to move around without a car.

Weather in Provinces of Canada
Hi Everyone, Which places in Canada do you think have the best weather all year round? Most probably I will be starting my PPL in April in Manitoba and would like to know if I stay there for my IFR, CPL and Multi-Engine or is it best to change to another place during Winter or not to study at Manito...

Re: Harv's. Which location?
I know guys who have been at Stienbach. They liked it because the practice area was very close, virtually empty airspace aside from flight school planes and jumpers. When you're doing your PPL and some of your CPL, you have a lot of practice area time. I for example trained in Vancouver and had a ....

Re: Harv's. Which location?
I trained in Steinbach, and flew to St Andrews a few times as well. I recommend Steinbach for the fact that there's a good choice of runways there (1 asphalt, 1 grass) for good training. There's a lot of people who fly there (particularly in the summer if there are air cadets training), so it can g...
