Re: 17 year TA?

How are we screwing over the industry? I made 150k last year at Jazz and make more than a Swoop captain. I'm a year two Captain and take home more than a year two WJ Captain. Sure they have their big stock match but have you seen the direction the stock has been going? I'll take my ESOP and DC pens...

Re: 17 year TA?

Imagine if you were the only game in town how much bargaining leverage you would have..... Oh, wait. The AC and WJ pilots own exclusive rights to their flying yet both ended up with de facto b scale operations at Rouge and Swoop courtesy of arbitrations foisted on them by the Minister of Labour. Bo...

Re: 17 year TA?

From the Q and A #4 posted today. Similar to the Contract Training Pilot section, is there any other MOS/tentative agreement language that has not been disclosed? There is nothing specifically excluded from the settlement. The document attempts to capture spirit and intent. It is important to realiz...

Re: 17 year TA?

Also FYI all post 2015 CA upgrade dates will be DOH if this passes including yours. I have scrutinized the MOS for the last week. Over and over and I cannot for the life of me, see anything even hinting to that. The YOS 'credit' is for FO to captain, starting at year four. No other credit carried. ...

Re: 17 year TA?

Can I have a Ferrari with that? Talk about greed and unrealistic expectations. Greedy and unrealistic? There are 700 pilots senior to me with that pay/yos/etc. How am I being greedy for wanting what my coworkers have. How am I being greedy and unrealistic when our neighbours to the south are gettin...

Re: Will it pass?

I work 13 days a month, make $100k right now and don't have a degree. I'd say I'm doing just fine and enjoy my life in Canada. Close to friends and family. I'll take another 17 years of that, vs uncertainty especially in aviation. Honestly, who am I to argue about what is good and what is not? Afte...

Re: Will it pass?

Three things here: 1. My opinion should not matter, because I don't work for Jazz anymore. With that being said, I worked there a bit and know a few things about the "good" and the "bad". 2. I believe if will pass. Why? a). Let's be realistic. 95% of the new hires at Jazz will want to go to Air Can...

Re: 17 year TA?

You know what would pass in a heartbeat? Change the terms to this: CPA/contract to10 years from today. 2029. WITH guaranteed cost openers at 3 year intervals. Complete removal of the B scale. Only the A scale. No ifs ands or buts. No blended bs. Direct YOS carryover. Not the farce they have offered...

Re: 17 year TA?

Make more gains AFTER you sign a contract? Get this man away from his pen!! Pilot shortage: Boeing estimates the need for an addtional 790,000 new pilots by 2037. Almost coincided with 2035, hmmm https://www.forbes.com/sites/marisagarcia/2018/07/27/a-perfect-storm-pilot-shortage-threatens-global-av...

Re: 17 year TA?

Pilots are the biggest bunch of pussies I’ve seen Let me get this straight: - retirements - world wide airline growth (read about what Boeing has to say about future requirements) - already on a 10 years contract To lock into a contract till 2035 - with no raise. Sorry 2% is not a raise. Better hop...

Re: 17 year TA?

. For anyone to think that locking in a contract for a contract carrier until 2035 means you won't have opportunities to make improvements is naive. Jazz is just over 3 years into a locked cost neutral 10 year agreement and look at what is happening. The second an actual pilot shortage manifests? O...

Re: 17 year TA?

It was stated many times that the A220 and MAX wouldn't be used as regional aircraft, but as supplements to the retirements of the 767's and older A320s. I bet if this passes, the RRA won't happen. Anyone want to wager an adult beverage on that? We cost AC pennies to operate regionally in compariso...

Re: 17 year TA?

Why would you just hope that the company comes back to offer more money out of the goodness of their hearts instead of at least trying to get some improvements to the TA and have them in writing? Also, those bonuses at Pasco aren't part of their wages, so as soon as things slow down they go away. I...
