Re: Evas
Evasyhzcaptain, I’ll start by saying I commend you for the time and effort you’ve put into improving your CBA and WAWCON. That said, I feel bad for current/future Evas employees having you bargaining on their behalf. You clearly have no idea what it’s like to work at an even semi-decent airline. Yo...

Re: Evas
I got this one EVAS YHZ Captain. Correct where necessary. 1. How much is the promissory note for? How long is it? How much money do you have to pay upfront? - Last Check $20,000 for 2 years, 50% cash upfront. And approximately $450 cash for your uniform... I stopped reading here. 50% up front cash ...

Re: WestJet flight reduction
I was going to say the same thing. It's a little odd that WJ is cutting flights while expanding Swoop. Maybe it's a coincidence. Airlines have losses. It happens, but cutting flights right away seems like a knee jerk reaction. Then again, what do I know about running an airline? (no sarcasm). Not mu...

Re: Anxiety past. Do I have any chance of getting Cat 1 Medical?
The reality of it is that a lot of pilots are suffering from some sort of depression, anxiety and mental illness. Most of them are afraid to mention anything to their doctor in fear that they may lose their medical. The laws have to change and allow pilots to keep flying if they are under a supervis...

Re: Good Hands n’ Feet vs. Operational Experience
What makes you think that a 900 hour Navajo captain does not have good hands and feet? I'd say the Navajo pilot would have more useful experience, flying operationally into small airports, more often than not with a basic auto pilot, IFR, etc. You don't need to teach slow flight, spins, spiral dives...

Re: Bravo Cargojet Airways.
Let's put things into perspective here. 75K a year, flying a wide-body Boeing 767 is still way below the average pay of what that individual should make. Research the pay for other airlines (outside Canada) that fly the 767...

Re: European Pilots at AC?
As long as you have a work permit, you can try an apply for that coveted 54k CAD/year job as an air canada FO. Sadly, you're 100% correct. When a pilot at "Canada's leading" carrier can not afford to live in the city that his employer resides, there is something significantly wrong with the Canadia...

Re: European Pilots at AC?
There are a lot of European pilots at Air Canada. To work here you need to have: 1. A Canadian citizenship (or) 2. Be a landed immigrant (or) 3. Have a valid work visa From the time I arrived in Canada until I received my Canadian citizenship was 5 years. After 3 years you can apply for it and depen...

However, the press is busy with a propaganda war against the employees and I know I can trust all of these reporters to put in some work and not just cut and paste the company PR department... "Journalistic Integrity", if it ever existed has long been gone. The ones that still have a "back bone" ha...

No doubt NOTAMS are a little outdated and sometimes overwhelming, but sh*t, for 200K + a year, an AC 787 captain makes, he (or she) better recite them like a poem, before they land at the destination. Hans, You've already established your ignorance on this forum. Just stop posting. I think you need...

Yup. I love how the (cheap percentage) of the flying public praise companies such as Swoop, Flair, "Newleaf", and what's that pipe dream "Canada Jet Lines"(?), that only exists on social media? Anyway, that's what you get when you cheap out.

Re: Airbus to rename the C Series...disgusting.
Why is the A220 better than Bombardier? It's simple. Airbus is a company with deep pockets and resources. Bombardier was on thin ice and people were nervous. This move assures customers that the A220 will be supported for years to come. As a personal touch, I think the executives at Bombardier are u...

Re: Well that didn’t take long for Swoop FA’s to unionize
Can’t believe the salary structure for WJ FAs, starting first year Nurse wages on average are higher than top WJ FA. Who in the f—— would want to work at WJ for that money, that is if the article as noted is correct. You're not seriously comparing a Nurse (RN) with a 4 year degree, with a a Flight ...

Re: New pot legislatiion brings on talk of pilot pee in a cup
Once weed becomes legal, every pilot should be able to smoke it if he or she chooses to, the same way we can drink beer, wine and whiskey. Peeing in a cup and testing "positive" for marijuana, does not mean you're intoxicated. Until they find better ways to identify (marijuana induced) intoxication,...

Re: Swoop hiring foreign scabs
So it's okay for Canadian pilots to work in: - The Middle East - Asia - Maldives - Caribbean - India - Europe - USA - Antarctica (well... that one's debatable) ... but not okay for foreign pilots to work here? Where is this sense of entitlement coming from? If Canada doesn't have qualified pilots to...
