Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

New interview by the CEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5YWV0wh3es That interview made me nervous. I feel like if the airline is profitable and you're asked "are you profitable?", you'd happily answer yes. If not, you'd give an answer like he just did. Driving the "we are bringing affordable tra...

Re: Flair Suspending Growth Plans amid Delivery Delays and Debt

The thing is, Flair is in a unique situation, much different from the basic financial structure of the other failed small airlines. Simply put, they won't go under because they've run out of startup capital, the business will just continue to operate on a loss and 777 will continue to pay the bills...

They are communicating…just not to people like you on this forum. They explained the reasons for the focus on sun destinations during the winter months via several town halls and despite a significant amount of cancellations and delays due weather and maintenance over the holiday the loads have bee...

Re: Adverse Reactions Poll

Fear the rural folk who love their country, who are the first ones that would sign up for service to fight and die for their country to protect the freedoms it appears many are ungrateful for. Vaccinated or not, rural folk are some of the most stand up, genuine, generous hard working people I know....

Re: window blows out on alaska airlines / emergency landing

I’ve been doing some reading that BA’s focus on meeting DEI targets, to the exclusion of proper management hiring and oversight is the cause of some of their problems. I believe it. No different than at Harvard except Harvard’s disgrace isn’t likely to kill anyone. Its infected the FAA. Today, the ...

Agreed.

Same sort of people backing up the QEW when there is a nasty accident on the other side.

Phones out their windows. Lets get some video!

Re: 300NM CPL requirment

I made mine a multi day, over 1500 NM trip (one way radius) , 40 hours, entirely in the US, small and large airports, (to the far SW). Learned a ton, planned it carefully, got a little chunk of mountain, and high altitude takeoff experience too. Good for you. I always highly encourage prospective C...

Re: cessna 208 caravan lands on busy road

Ice ingested in the engine? I was more thinking about pre-departure top of the wing contamination compounded with maybe some ice collected on the leading edges once moving fast enough. It's really just a supposition out of many. Yup. I was curious if the inertial separator was deployed. That’s what...

I took the first 2 vax doses, which made a lot of sense to me at the time on a risk / reward basis (I’ve had respiratory issues). Boosters, have made far less sense to me. I think there is a strong case (not a fan of flu shots either) that too many vaccines, and too many doses of antibiotics, aren’t...

Lufthansa in SFO

I found this scenario interesting, SFO (seems a challenging place) was running only night visual approaches, Lufthansa 380 appears and their SOP’s won’t allow visuals.

I was wondering the same. Anyone know more about their staffing levels? They say its demand, FWIW Put it this way let’s say you have 20 metro captains and you can make $xxxx per hour flying them on a perimeter route or you can make $xx per hour flying a lower yield bearskin route. Which route are y...
