I believe Porter's early connection program is open to everyone.

Re: Intentionally landing on public roads
Some of the best spray strips I've operated off of were roads. A little narrow, but this is why your instructors tell you to keep it on the centre line! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/CmjfVnjMY4oGBYwnGgBkGjhjOwjtydrIA0GN7p56bmY1Bn_cp_eKPwqpMRjVsj00YmbAUugLpNDRofuaqJZnfh5PuAANe0nyYZT9HY807ZfvwHLl-...

I ended up getting the DC Pro-X, I tried that out in the Lear 45 on the way down to Florida yesterday and at least for me, I think was the better purchase. I think I'm sold on getting the Pro-X, but I've yet to try it on. I keep bouncing back and forth from Clarity Aloft vs Pro-X. Does the Pro-X mo...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I’ve seen people with zero post secondary education get hired, That's a curious statement. Is that for recent OTS guys/gals? I've heard rumours that if you have 500 hours of 705 Captain experience the post secondary can be waved, but I find that really hard to believe. I've never heard of guys with...

Re: SARON / SAMRA Feedback
The rule of thumb is to double the altitude and minus 15. Thus for FL240, 24x2=48. 48-15=33. The temperature in the example is -38, thus ISA -5.
Hope that clears things up.

Re: The problem with minimum wage ground crews
Most spray operators have it right. If you want someone to wake up at god awful hours, work long tedious days in scorching heat in a loud, dry, dust filled environment, and then wash rinse repeat running on E until it rains -- you have to pay them accordingly. $20-25 an hour is not uncommon. Even as...

Re: Gear-Up: Engine shutdown?
Our QRH for the Q400 suggests a shutdown. The QRH doesn't lead you to that decision. The Gear Indicator Malfunction checklist is pretty short and sweet and is hoping for a good outcome. If you still have one of the landing gear up, or all of them up as the original scenario suggests -- Bombardier i...

I'm the person that would be happy flying a dash 8 forever I dont care or even instruct that paid well. I'm liking the idea simply because you can use the headset for deadheads, and even the long commute into work. Might end up getting one, one of these days.

Congrats!
I had a similar experience meeting with an operator many years ago. I would pop in, shoot the shit, and help out around the hanger a few times leading up before my application.
Best of luck with your exciting career! Enjoy the ride and stay safe!

MCCPIlot Log. One time payment, and a great product. My recommendation is to look at the logbooks that will auto fill using the software the company uses to spit out schedules.
