Re: THE NEXT GIGANTIC ISSUE.

South Park nailed the climate change hysteria back in 2005 with this clip from season 9 episode 8 "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow"....seems even more relevant today.

Re: THE NEXT GIGANTIC ISSUE.

Covid is a Zit by comparison. CLIMATE CHANGE. Think — inflation. Flying for one is going to get a LOT more expensive. We are in very early innings of the massive effects of the world needing to adapt. Anyone who doesn’t see this is a fool or just not paying attention. You ever been to Resolute Bay ...

Re: Has covid changed your plan?

Just my opinion but if you were wanting to go to AC before the pandemic you should definitely go whenever the opportunity arises. The economic boom coming out of the pandemic combined with high retirement numbers will get you quite far up the list and safe from layoffs pretty quickly. Getting into ...

Re: Best guess when hiring will happen

I do have a feeling (based on no facts) that HR will bring back those 2 cancelled 2020 ground schools classes at one point between spring and summer. By the time they start contacting people, and get them back into the system (maybe doing another sim eval, interview?), summer will be around the cor...

Re: Best guess when hiring will happen

There seem to be stronger indications that hiring may resume in Spring 2022. How could that happen? 1. An Equipment Bid runs in January 2022 2. There are unbid FO vacancies in the bid 3. The company is not obliged to hire to fill these vacancies, but likely will. 4. The timeline to hire to fill the...

Re: Best guess when hiring will happen

It's really a guess here but I'd say 1 year. As stated, vacancies are shown for next summer months when there's typically very few ground schools. I'd say fall is when we COULD expect a new GS from Jazz. That's a decent guess. I tend to agree, but like yourself, I'm just estimating. Retirements wil...

There are at least 5 (maybe more ?) retired Jazz -300s sitting in North Bay at the Voyageur boneyard as of a few days ago.

Re: Fall Equipment Bid

Yes. Excludes inactive pilots (med leave/management/training department/LOA). By way of comparison, the last Jazz equipment bid prior to COVID had 1300 flying positions. But it did NOT include the SKV E175 flying positions. SKV seniority list at time of consolidation was 283 but included management...

Re: Fall Equipment Bid

Rudder, does the 1326 flying positions mean "line pilots" (term you have used in previous posts on this subject) ? Yes. Excludes inactive pilots (med leave/management/training department/LOA). By way of comparison, the last Jazz equipment bid prior to COVID had 1300 flying positions. But it did NOT...

So where are the YYZ Q400s going ?

Re: Fall Equipment Bid

Would anyone (in the know) kindly share the details if possible. 1326 flying positions. Estimated to be approximately 90% of pre-COVID commercial schedule. This represents full employment for active Jazz pilots as of Aug 29. Rudder, does the 1326 flying positions mean "line pilots" (term you have u...

Re: Regionals hiring this Spring rumours

Regarding recalls, it will be interesting to see what percentage of those laid off from the various airlines in 2020 will actually return...perhaps the Jazz bid coming out later this month will give an idea if they will have to hire by this fall or next spring....

Here's hoping the airlines don't start "Yo-Yoing" with recalls, its gonna piss off a lot laid off guys if they get kicked to the curb again....everyone's got bills to pay.

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen

Anyone know if the company is under any obligation to hire back in order of start date, those who had initial ground schools cancelled before actually starting with Jazz last year ? The VP of flight ops said in a webinar recently that they will honour those job offers when it comes time to hire aga...
