Re: Helicopter crash CYFD
Looking at Google maps there’s a major high-tension power line running parallel to Powerline Rd along the south side and a smaller rural power line running parallel on the other side of the road. Maybe lost sight of the smaller one while looking at the big one?

Re: Helicopter crash CYFD
It's an R44 and was doing crop spraying when it hit a power line. The owner says the pilot is okay.

Ahhh look at the airport, actually NS as a whole. The only reason why not having 4 ILS's is for economic reasons. Why would you put ILS's on 05, or 32 when they are only used maybe 5% of the time. That said the airport authority seems more interested in selling you crap than improving aircraft ops(...

Aftermarket modifications of GA aircraft can be great. A lack of understanding into how they've changed the aircraft can also put you in a very precarious situation, as in this case.

I read elsewhere that the C310 pilot added power on the good engine to avoid a power line and that’s when it rolled over.

And people wonder why pilots are often stereotyped as “difficult”. I swear, some of you could turn ordering pizza for the group into a brawl that ends with everyone going hungry.

If I made the laws, seatbelts would only be mandatory if your car is travelling more than 80km/h. Below that speed, if you remove your belt or keep it on, who cares. The point is, the cops wouldn't be allowed to bother you until 80km/h +. But currently, you must wear your seat belt even if you trav...

While you are correct that the passenger must present the medical exemption upon request, it is highly unlikely that the doctor will document the specifics of the exemption. In fact, stating the medical reasons would be a violation of the persons right to privacy regarding their health data.

Can anyone tell me how to get copies of these pictures of the jets ? My father is very elderly and lives in a nursing home. He would love them! Thanks! My mom did bookkeeping for Mr. Taylor in the late 50’s and 60’s and was there when he got that first aircraft. I’d be willing to bet she was a pass...

It isn’t the government telling them to do that, it’s the selfish and inept crusaders in the anti-mask brigade.northernpilot2 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 1:30 pm If the government told everyone put the fork in an electrical socket, most people would. Sad.

Today’s incident was a C172. A friend of mine witnessed it from 16th Ave and was one of the first on the scene to offer assistance.

The danger in posting something that inflammatory is that someone is almost certain to quote you before you get a chance to have second thoughts. By chance, are you familiar with libel law?
