Re: Go to the Regionals Vs. get Multi PIC time?

Jazz will upgrade anyone with the seniority to hold a skipper spot with an ATPL. I personally know of two people who had 1700hrs and were upgraded.

MPIC is good to have but pick the path that best suits you. Where do you WANT to be?

Re: Seaplanes at Night

The Harbour has never been 'lit' to my knowledge. I had heard they planned to light the buoys in Male but it never came to fruition. Didn't know there were two legal spots with lights. I too have gotten caught whilst young and foolish landing without the sun for light! One time I tied my waterproof ...

Re: Tips

There was a sign in one of the beavers I flew that said "tip your pilot so he remembers where he left you'.

One lodge i worked for I'd average about 4k a month in tips! Plus a lot of beer.

Re: Job Posting

Hi Maverick, There are details on what is required for references in the portal. IIRC (haven't looked in a couple years) it has to be someone in a TC managerial role. i.e.; ops manager, chief pilot, director of flight ops etc. While you can add someone from Jazz, it's probably not super relevant. W...

Re: From Float flying to Airlines?

Most of my time pre airline was On floats. Mixed with a little bit of multi and multi turbine on wheels. Enjoy the journey. Have some fun. build some memories. Gain a skill set that others don't.

My night landings still suck! haha

After watching all of this unfold, I'm glad I stuck around.. Now there would have to be a pretty wild (and highly unlikely) incentive to ever go over to the dark side.

Re: Beaver collides with boat landing Tofino

Plane was coming off the step. Boat hit the left front float and mangled it at a fair speed. Aircraft slowly sank. Couple friends watched it happen. I cant count how many times the water taxi's there have paid zero attention to anything other than themselves.. either swamping kayakers or nearly coll...

Re: Q400 and YCG

IIRC YCG is one of the protected routes in the 'act'. That airport also serves multiple communities and I know they've been screaming at the feds to resume service and they're demanding something better/bigger than a 1900. Its totally doable on 'most' days. It'll be much like going in there with the...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen

The answer to this question is probably hidden somewhere within one of the barrage of recent LOU’s... WRT the recent recalls, including the many that happened today, are the 80 or early retirement/buyout taken into account? Or put another way, once the last of the group of 80 has left by end of Aug...

Re: Basler BT-67 Operators in Canada

Many friends flew Dougie Day Care at KBA.

The airplane, the lifestyle and everything else aint for the faint of heart.

But man! what a blast it looked like.

Re: Classic Dash replacement??

I believe it is worded to show that their numbers are being removed from CPA protections. I doubt they will be no longer flying routes for Jazz/AC until suitable replacements are acquired for the routes they operate. It makes me wonder if as part of the government bailout that we will end up purchas...

Re: Equipment bid

From the sounds of it, they have not received appropriate information from AC as to this years forecast and will be delaying. They might not even run the bid if its deemed to be too costly to both the association and the company. There will be a bid in 2021. Might not be February but it will happen...

Re: Kenn Borek Air Operations

Its been a while. I haven't worked there in about a decade now. Still have a couple friends there. I'm not sure how busy they are these days.. 1)Unless you are currently PPC'd on a twin otter or Basler, you probably won't walk in off the street. Low timers go through dispatch, the paint shop etc. So...
