Re: Ramp Wait Times

Should be no reason to take a ramp spot right now with how things are going. That being said if you have bills to pay and mouths to feed I wouldn’t except anything with a wait time of more than 3-4 months. Perimeter recently posted a job ad for low time pilots straight to the flight line when they t...

Re: New Livery

At first I thought this was a joke or someone misinformed. The livery looks like it would be some African carrier that just so happens to have the same name and someone snapped a picture of it. Not sure what they’re thinking unless it’s to get people talking about it.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Anyone know if they have Feb and/or March GSs scheduled? I know calls have gone out for the Jan 7th and I would assume the 28th course as well?

Re: Why does everyone want to work at Air Canada?

A big draw for me that the others don’t offer is a wide variety of flying. Want to fly a 777 on long haul flights all over the world? AC offers that. Want to fly more domestic routes on a narrow-body? AC offers that. Want to do “vacation” flying down to the Caribbean? AC offers that.

Also heard they’re going to announce Fire suppression, general transportation then the air ambulance in that order. Likely delays between the announcements.

ARGO wrote: Thu Sep 20, 2018 4:40 pm Has anyone applied OTS over the last 1-2 years and not heard a thing? If so, what type of experience did you apply with?
Applied just under a year ago when the OTS posting first showed up in Oct 2017. Had 3500 then. Just got an email the other day for the video interview.

Re: SKYLINK EXPRESS

Do you have a 1900 type rating? I can confirm Skylink Express is not having a hard time filling Captain seats. Neither Greg Taylor/Dale Sweeney offered me a position. Lots of operators like Skylink (turboprop focused) are having a hard time filling seats. Your best bet to get unbiased current pay in...

The 6 planes are for primary care NOT everything province wide. Fast, SkyNorth, Nippi will still be there to do all the basic air ambulance work.

King Air experienced?
Hmmm it’s a long shot with only King Air time. I’d suggest going out and buying yourself a Dash-8 typerating. If you have the cash book an RJ sim for better chances. Checkout CAE or Flightsafety.

Re: Navcanada discontinuing approaches at under-serviced airports

Interesting. I can see why they don’t want the old NDB approach but what’s the actual cost of upkeep for a GPS approach. The biggest thing I can see this effecting is MEDEVAC operations. Atikokan is 2 hours from Thunder Bay and 1.5 from the Fort. I have family that have had to be MEDEVAC’d in the pa...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Of the last few months when PIT courses were running how many RP spots were offered? Sounds like a good 75% of the new hires were going narrowbody FO. Just curious as it sounds like the RP spots are becoming more sought after at least for commuters.
