Re: Where to send Licence renewal

I am never "thrilled' by my experience with TC during licence renewals. My last 2 IFR renewals never came in the mail and where getting close to the 90 days - this forced me to contact them. I naturally thought I would be going through the same "service" with my most recent licence renewal. Hold on ...

Re: Notice of Proposed Amendment - Seaplane Operations - 201

In these cold temps on the West Coast right now how many would survive in the water even if they did get out with life jackets on? Engine failures do happen in the turbine Otter and its just a matter of time before one quits over the Straight in high winds and heavy seas. Even a successful landing c...

Don't worry about it. There are pilots at every airline with tattoos.

Re: Here's an interesting method of building hours.

I usually don't use big words like "condone" so sorry if I used it wrong, I was just repeating it from the question the other poster asked me. I keep up to date on the Regs, I know its not 100 percent legit to get someone to pay all the cost of your flight according to the Queen's rules. Bend...

Re: Here's an interesting method of building hours.

I condone going up flying and taking someone with you to share the experience, its good for General Aviation. A true Chisel Charter in my mind (and that's what's important because it all about me 8) is charging someone say 300 bucks an hour for a 172 owned and operated by the club or even privately ...

Re: Here's an interesting method of building hours.

I think pilots getting people to go flying this way is GREAT! Even for pilots not needing the experience. General aviation is almost dead in Canada compared to what it once was and if gets more people up into the air then all the better. Your average person isn't going to go flying with these guys s...

Re: Georgian RJ's

What a mess!!! Temporary (until the next wave is hired) Foreign Workers. The glory days are over in Canada with the government that is running (ruining) this country. AC has their support and is running with it. We need a change. Safety should be our main concern for the flying public and lowering w...

Re: Regs regarding takeoff & landing a floatplane

LOL S.H! The things your passengers say. Reminds me of a wheel pilot friend that years ago bought a Cessna 185 on floats and checked himself out on it. He started doing chisel charters off the West Coast to an offshore fishing ship with Japanese clients. He lost directional control taking off from t...

Re: Encore's CP & DFO

Bede, Most of us have basic reasoning skills. Encore isn't paying enough to attract decent candidates. The attraction to the decent candidates that do apply is to use Encore as a stepping stone. A good living wage and decent time off is what you have at WestJet. If that is not achieved by the decent...

Re: Encore WACON released and surprise, it sucks

All you WJ guys at the mainline are saying that its all going to be fine as far as the wages are concerned yet you aren't saying anything about the 20 days worked to earn the wage. That is a huge negative is it not? I'm on the outside so of course I don't get it. I've heard about the Kool-aid, never...

Your experience and attitude seems to be in line with the type of candidate that Encore is trying to attract as a direct entry Captain.

Re: Encore Crew Bases

Trying to commute while working 20 days a month is not a good idea from a safety standpoint. Some companies do not allow commuting for this reason. I hope that will be the case here. Once this airline is up and running it will be interesting to learn what kind of duty hours per month a pilot average...
