Re: Interesting airplane ads
I think the asking prices of Cessna 180, 182, and 185 floatplanes are going up. Barnstormers has a listing for a Cessna 180 floatplane asking $180k. Ad says it was sold. They also had a listing for a Cessna 185 Amphib, asking $415k. Ad says sold. NAP More of the "look, I'm trying to sell my plane" ...

Re: Zika virus in 2021
Zika, dengue and chikungunya are still around. Some countries have done more than others as far as control and eradication. I would recommend calling the foreign house of the country you intend on visiting first for full information, not to mention which countries are accepting foreigners and what t...

Re: Kobe Bryant chopper crash
. He could have slowed down and even set down at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu/Lost hills heliport within 2 miles of the crash location. He could have literally set it down anywhere with a big enough opening. Unfortunately the pilot didn't have the luxury of doing any vft bush work to hon...

I wonder if the activation of the primer while running caused the fuel to be sucked through the system freely until it flooded instead of the "measured" pumps.
Excellent move on the continuous cranking. Some might not have reacted as properly.

Re: Kobe Bryant chopper crash
I agree Schooner! I’d have to go back and look at the facts but I would think if your flying a multimillionaire around you would want to do so in the safest way possible (go IFR, decline the flight and let him get driven?). If you have to get a clearance and go up and get him to an airport IFR then...

Re: Who is flying the vaccine
That question is a joke right? The answer is nobody. We Canadians vaccinated 15,000 today. The Americans vaccinated 2,055,000. That's over TWO MILLION in one day. Our Liberal government is a joke. Everyone in Trudeaus "clown troupe" should resign, especially the Procurement Minister and Health Mini...

Re: Motion in flight simulator
I guess they're not familiar with flight sim classifications? There are plenty of stationary training aids but their realism ends with no motion. The whole point of full motion sims was to avoid having to spend even more money on training in real aircraft. The references in it are ancient, it's 2021...

There are some jobs available still.
Even if you think you're not qualified or overqualified it would be good to get some experience job hunting.

Re: More than half of world's airline pilots no longer flying - survey
looks like the mapleflot/aeroflot style of doing things may just come back, here in canada anyway. no one will have the money to train themselves, and on one wants the huge instability anymore. Get yer bucks out canada, yer gonna need to train off the street people just to keep the transportation s...

Re: Flight schools and their status?
Seems at least in Ontario, if the school offers commercial pilot licenses, they can't offer private instruction since they're regulated by the Private Careers Colleges Act, but small schools that only offer private instruction can do whatever they would like since they are not regulated by the prov...

Having absolutely no info and not second guessing anyones decisions. But does not the routing sound like someone trying to avoid a stop in Canada and the associated covid protocol hassle? I've long felt that I'd rather face the long arm of the law/chief pilot in person than have people at my funera...

An aircraft that is currently flying and in compliance with applicable Type Certificate Data Sheet it is a fairly easy process to transfer to the owner maintenance category if that's what you have decided to do. It does take a bit of time for the paperwork back and forth with Transport Canada. If t...

I'd call that a crash landing. A hard landing and the ship can be repaired. I wonder if this was a hard landing like that air Canada plane. What was the weather in Exeter?

So Julie payette went to private schools, so did Trudeau...anyone know if Garneau did? It’s a real kick in the teeth for the taxpayer to pick up her pension of $143k for life for being an abusive person. She had one job, be the gg. Nobody cares about that post and it should be abolished. She could ...

Re: CANADA TO LIFT BAN ON BOEING 737 MAX ON JAN. 20
The problem wasn't the plane, it was Boeing who pushed the plane out with a poorly thought out system that solved a problem that didn't really exist, all so they didn't need proper differences training. The plane was unsafe but I would like to believe that they've got it fixed now, especially with a...

Interesting note about the "instructor" who had no pilot record for the last 12 years because his alleged logbook was on his phone which was destroyed.

Re: Left or Right seat
Pic in my helicopter is right seat, as per the RFM. You can fly from the left if there's another pilot in the right but cannot fly solo in the left. So, it depends on the aircraft limitations and then your oc SOPs, and the CARs. In our case, the right seat still has to be occupied by an appropriatel...
