Re: will there be a repeat of 1991-95 ?
Tokyo, Mumbai, Rio, you name it, can have people connect through Canada. Do you really think the money is in flying from Regina to Calgary? No. It’s the business class passenger who flew from Santiago to London via YYZ Like no Business class pax would likely do that….Can fly to London direct….from ...

Re: How long til $100k?
CPL in the early 1980’s. $100k in year 2000. That is $169k in year 2023 dollars. $200k in year 2015. That is $249k in year 2023 dollars. $250k in year 2020. That is $288k in year 2023 dollars. T4 income has either flatlined or declined since 2020. Treating $100k as a ‘benchmark’ in aviation is as o...

AI Future Effects on Aviation Industry.
AI is going to drastically affect many industries, over time, it seems clear.
I am deeply concerned about its potential effects, for many reasons, economic and societal.

Re: How long til $100k?
Add to the above great post: Getting to a CPL (my level ) as compared to medical school or law school? I know young folks on both of those tracks. Both take a Looooonnnnnngggggg time and a ton of hard work and money. A CPL is a cereal box joke by comparison to obtain. Any competent big rig truck dri...

Re: How long til $100k?
I entirely disagree with your dismissal of comparisons between pilots and other professions. While it's not on exactly the same level, I frankly find "laughable" a little insulting. It's not as rigorous, and less expensive, but also a completely different skillset outside of pure academics. If ever...

Re: How long til $100k?
I hope the takeaway for anyone from the public reading this thread is how utterly obscene this is. Not only should we be asking "How long to 140k" given that's the same buying power as 100k in 2010, but look at these timelines after investing nearly or in excess of 6 figures for a professional educ...

Re: Can a training bond that was NOT signed be enforced?
The most objective way to look at it, is to compare what other pilots in a similar situation would do. If most pilots stay 4+ years, and the OP leaves after 9 months, it's likely the OP is the 'problem'. If most pilots stay less than 1 year, it's likely the company is the 'problem'. Also note he's ...

Re: Can a training bond that was NOT signed be enforced?
Obviously there's nowhere near enough background to truly assess this situation but I will admit that my eyebrows raised just a bit on the part that the timeline is less than a year from start to finish. And yet it seems most respondents think it's the operator that's the problem. Hmmm?! The most o...

Re: Perimeter Runway Excursion
Maybe the companies are paying me to keep it quiet. Maybe Neil Armstrong never walked on the moon. Maybe 9/11 was an inside job. Maybe you need to see a shrink. Geez you’re a dick aren’t you! I don’t believe in any of the above or any other crackpot conspiracy, I do believe you like to create contr...

I support you guys getting whatever you can. I would.
There might be a secular shortage of pilots, but the world is changing fast out there in the economy.
Get er done, my advice.

If wind was out of the west as was said, and they took 03, implies a tailwind.
With contamination, wonder what that does for an MU2’s numbers. Guess depends on the RSC.

If they did rwy 21 its a fairly steep approach due to terrain, high minimums, and there is a 700 ft displacement
