Re: Traing bond legal question
They haven't provided you with work in 3 months?!? If I got that right and unless they were still paying you which I'm guessing they weren't I'm quite sure that would be your ticket in court to get out of the bond. If they were providing you with steady work then it would be a different story but yo...

Re: Owner Maintenance Question
I'm sure there are also many certified airplanes that are not on the OM eligibility list that have had work done on them by the owners and nothing was written in the log book.

Re: Owner Maintenance Question
I know some owners that have their aircraft in the OM category and they are absolutely fanatical about their maintenance and their plane shows it. I think that an OM aircraft in some ways may be better maintained because the maintenance is more affordable. There are things I'd like to do on my plane...

That's why they use little cartoons now instead of words on labels and all that, got to protect stupid people from themselves, or give them a big sweaty wad of money.

http://www.republicseabee.com/ this site has a ton of info and history, if you dig into it I think they have the history of all the Seabeee serial #s. I was looking thru it a while ago as I was thinking of buying one at one point.

Re: C-gfxk (okotoks flight school) off airport
Nimbys kill me, they move into phase 1 in a new development then complain about the noise from the construction of phase 2, funny how they never complained about the noise from phase 1. Then they complain about the airport and race track that have been there for 75 years.

Re: What do you do when you think someone should never fly again?
When it comes to command in aviation, nice guys cause funerals. That seems like a good old boy statement. I'll go one further, ass holes and tyrants also create large smoking holes. It boils down to managing and using resources and assets at your disposal. This seems to be the point of the whole th...

Re: Pulling that CB could come back to haunt you
Never forget your GUMP checks: G ear down U ndercarriage down M ake sure your gear is down P lease make sure your gear is down I like to keep my hand on the selector(at least in small aircraft) until I see the appropriate gear down indication(s). Such a technique might have helped the pilot in this...

How about this accident? A bad mag results in a pulled breaker that results in a single engine go around with the gear down but the pilot thought it was up, then a crash. Talk about a chain reaction of screw ups!

Re: Small plane crash near Kenora.
If you are paying a so called reputable shop to preform your annual (not some guy on the side out of a back of a pickup) and your paying a substantial amount of money and your bill says they did an AD search you shouldn't have to do the search yourself again. The last shop that did my annual in whi...

I think their van still has a parking boot on the wheel. If they can't afford to pay their vehicle parking then stay away. Someone must be working on their plane(s) out of pitt meadows, hope they get paid.

Re: What do you do when you think someone should never fly again?
What do you do in the case of a pilot who is an awesome pilot but constantly pushes weather (and promoted it), takes risks, screw the checklist we're 1 minute behind and is a "get er done" company man? The company loves him and he just happens to be the Chief pilot. Is he busting weather limits or ...

screw the checklist we're 1 minute behind and is a "get er done" company man? The company loves him and he just happens to be the Chief pilot. Tell him you will not fly with him and you are quitting and want to go back to the parking area. If he refuses stop the engines and get off the airplane. At...

I have no clue what the aircraft stats are for birds bringing down a twin engine aircraft, but two high profile situations and both A320. I know bird strike...

Did the original poster or any of his fellow Captains actually think of bringing this up with this FO? Maybe have a serious talk with him over a coffee and try to help him instead of secretly sewering him quietly behind his back. He probably thinks he is doing fine because everyone is to chicken shi...
