Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?
I know you mean well . but sometimes it feels like you are really disconnected from the current reality of things. I don't hold it against you since I realize you haven't been active in the airline industry in a long time. I retired from aviation in 2005 and my last flight was jumpseat back from Ho...

Boeing 727
Anyone here ever fly the 727 for AC? I heard its an airplane that youll never master landing, even if you grease it on once or twice, the next time wont be so lucky. How was the 727 at AC?

Re: Canadian rapper dies after falling off airplane wing in failed stunt in B.C.
In my personal opinion that is reckless operation of an airplane and should be chargeable. It is a violation of CARs to operate an airplane in a dangerous way, but after talking with my policeman pal its a chargeable offense under the Criminal Code. Whether or not the Crown will go for this is anot...

Are you still waiting? I feel you on that big time, at least your in the pool. I find the recruitment process so very flawed. Here I am, Just passed 1500 hours. Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?
It has nothing to do with ranking or grandiose attitudes, bottom line is your taking a job away from someone else because your airline is too cheap to hire a proper ground crew and instead sells it as "One in, all in! Were a team and a family! Everyone helps!" propaganda. That's the most ridiculous...

I wouldn't worry so much about the polygraph when you have the spinal tap to worry about. Worry about the spinal tap?!? You should EMBRACE the SPINAL TAP!!!! https://flavorwire.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/spinal-tap.jpg?w=731 PS: I know I'm old. +1 All of our Airbus aircraft have 6 flap positions, ...

Re: Career First Officer at AC by design?
Ask yourself what you want and need out of life. Money, schedule, self-bettering yourself by being the best you can be for you and not social media - the CA, FO, or RP positions all have their pros and cons, it just depends how well it fits in with what you want and need out of life.

Re: Which Canadian Airlines expect their Flight Deck Crew to also be Cabin Groomers?
Oh Jesus here we go with the sarcastic "I hope no one demeans a pilot by making them clean" etc comments... I cant wait for a WS crew member to ask me to clean after I deadhead because Ive been saving the "Im not doing that, my airline pays people to do this." line for a year now. It has nothing to ...

Re: Swoop cancels US flights due lack of approvals
Was really impressed at how far Swoop has set back aviation. Yesterday at a Marriot in Winnipeg I watched a Swoop crew filling baggies with food from the free breakfast buffet before leaving all dressed in the ugliest uniforms I have seen a flight crew wear. Is this really what flying the big iron ...

Re: Swoop cancels US flights due lack of approvals
This, plus the 767 fiasco, does not bode well for the new 787 ops. I still don't understand how they are planning to get slots. It's strange that they did so well under the Southwest model but then decided to completely steer away from it. Another one for the text books. I dont get it. They modeled...

Re: Canada faces severe shortage of pilots and aircraft workers - Ottawa Citizen
How many pilot shortage articles have come out in the last ten years that never actually touch on the real issue? Piles. Why hasnt any journalist figured it out yet? Because the average airline pilot makes 100+K a year so the industry is all great and amazing, and wonderful. Valid. No one cares for...

Re: Commuting YYJ to YVR
Frankly, how anyone could be a commuter is beyond me. They have much more patience, energy, and stress tolerance than I do. I get stressed out just watching them try to figure out how to get home. I certainly don't have what it takes. Did you trade the Tercel in for a Corolla? Upgrades all around.
