Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65

Good news! Since the majority of our flying is to the US this will limit their options. I suppose the post 65 gang can do some domestic flying if they want to on the Q or become simulator instructors as well.

Re: Pilot Employment Beyond Age 65

Also someone correct me if I’m wrong: If you stay working you can’t collect your pension so you would be leaving behind a 6 figure pension till you retire so you’ll be staying on as a captain and theoretically making a 5 figure income since you aren’t collecting your pension.

A) Made poor choices in women and now flat piss broke due to alimony payments.

B) Has no life outside flying/unhappy home life. Wears pilot uniform to stores after work.

Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing

Apparently not. https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL1N34J2M0/ Maybe there’s more heart problems popping up on ECGs lately. Possibly due to climate change? Depends which news sites you trust. I tend not to trust the mainstream or state funded media after all their lies but you believe in...

I agree. They sent me one relating to something 600km away from where I live. Totally irrelevant. All it does is anger people and the whole “boy who cried wolf” mentality applies.

Re: Flight hrs

I did about 750 last year. Not much overtime but we had a lot more longer flights that we have since lost. Now it’s mostly 1:00 to 1:30hr hops so I rarely fly more than 5 hrs a day. Horribly inefficient pairings at Jazz nowadays.

We are getting so hosed. Regional pilots there are making more than wide body pilots here. Plus paid commuting and fewer taxes.

It’s probably like a Tesla. Sleek and elegant but very expensive to fix and won’t take much to write off.

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?

I applied and was turned down during the Jazz PML in 2015. I think I had 12000 hours then.

Now Jazz is going to be running out of 2000 hour pilots to send over in short order.

They could be living off money from future ticket bookings which isn’t a sustainable business model. I don’t know. I am not a business guy, I just fly planes but I hope they survive.

Well it’s basically a cold now so if you’re all that concerned about it, vax yourself to the max but be respectful of those who chose not to take it. That’s been my stance all along. I don’t care if anyone takes it but it should not have been forced upon us like it was.

I also know unvaxxed purebloods who have had covid and the severity was no worse for one another. OMFG. Planes don't work. I know someone who crashed their plane. They don't work. Let me correc...

It would be nice to see the Lieberals reduced to a minivan sized number of seats next year. It would be nicer to see them tried and held accountable and prosecuted for the crimes they’ve committed in the past few years.

Re: Bearskin cuts routes.

People still fly on metros? Any passenger should avoid getting on a plane that one of the pilots needs to be the first one off in order to “cool the engine” by “climbing the props”, should be more worried about that than the 1/2 inch of “trace ice” on the leading edge. I think there's a lot of supe...

Sulako, mRNA is not a vaccine in the traditional sense. It is a gene therapy. Never been used on humans until now and the animal tests turned out, let’s just say unfavorable. I have no problem with vaccines so I’d appreciate you stop calling me antivax. I am against manipulating your genome, so tha...
