Looks like the have lowered their minimums considerably from previous job ads.
Good job from what I understand but you will never be home.

Heard the same. Really like the guys there. Would be very tempted to reapply but think I've got my eye on a very particular FD *cough cough* Scotia.
Waiting for their next window on the 2KS.

Re: Barrick Gold ad
Hah probably never.
One can dream. I like where I am - so absolutely no rush. Whenever they start hiring hopefully I'm ready to make a switch.
Are they only rocking two on the 2K - I imagined they had four. I know that was supposed to be the busy machine vs the 7X.

My friend was hired as the second guy. He thought they were hiring another last winter but I haven't spoke to him in a while. He seems to be extremely happy there.

I've heard nothing but great things, both with Scotia, Onex, and Barrick.JohnnyHotRocks wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 8:10 pm My friend was hired as the second guy. He thought they were hiring another last winter but I haven't spoke to him in a while. He seems to be extremely happy there.
I'm partial to the Dassault family of jets vs Gulfstream so that must be where my bias plays in hehe.

That wouldn't happen to be the one with the Gulfs and multi branded tails would it?

Re: Barrick Gold ad
See that's the problem with being on the north end - super disconnected from the 140% over capacity hangar situation there in the midfield lol
May'be not that disconnected - first I heard of a secret FD hiding in the hallways of the Skyservice hangar.
What's the secret handshake?

Re: Barrick Gold ad
Is there some sort of schedule associated with the work? Or very much on call?

I know for sure when you are on, it's on call - but not sure about schedule. I know they have multiple crews per jet, but how the rotation works out, not quite sure.
All Johnny and I know is guys really enjoy it. Talking with one of the main guys there, he lives for the trips, loves being busy and seeing the world. While family is important, home life is not a high priority. I am paraphrasing.

When I was down doing Gulf training in DFW the guys would brag non stop about the Falcons. I had no idea how good they were until I compared the sims back to back. After flying the Gulfs for a while I can only imagine if they are anywhere near the differences in the sim - they must be pretty spectacular IRL - the Falcons that is.NovaBoy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 3:55 amschnitzel2k3 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 6:32 amI've heard nothing but great things, both with Scotia, Onex, and Barrick.JohnnyHotRocks wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 8:10 pm My friend was hired as the second guy. They're on my bucket list. 50, 2K, 900, 7X - I'm not picky

I hope I haven't persuaded you not to apply. Please apply, interview with the guys, and let them tell you what it is all about.CL-Skadoo! wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 6:09 amThanks for the info on that, exactly what I needed to hear.schnitzel2k3 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 8:06 am I know for sure when you are on, it's on call - but not sure about schedule. My info in 2nd hand - and that tends to be misinterpreted.
I'd rather you have it come direct to you.
