Category 1 medical questions
Hey I have always wanted to become a pilot so I have started reader here in how to become one. I have all the steps down but I need some help when it comes to the section 1.35b where it says that an applicants prescription should not exceed +-3diopeters . But I have read on other forums where people say that’s got theirs without any problems. Some say as long as when you first get the medical license it doesn’t matter how bad your prescription gets and some say it doesn’t matter how bad your vision is in the first place. I need some clarification. Thanks

Re: Category 1 medical questions
I'm at 3.5 in one eye, and 4.25 in the other, and have been that way since my initial. I just applied for 'flexibility' under the rules, had an assessment by an opthalmologist (*not* an optician) that my vision was stable , and my medical was issued.
Good Luck!
Good Luck!
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Exactly how do you apply for this exemption. Do you need to fail the test ahead of time or do you need to apply for it ahead of time. And if so how do you apply.
