TSB release
EDMONTON, 16 Oct. 2015 /CNW/ - The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is deploying a team following an accident involving a Cessna 207 near Fort St. John, British Columbia. The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.
Vancouver Sun
Two people are dead after a small airplane crashed in northeastern B.C. Friday afternoon, according to the Transportation Safety Board.
The Cessna 207 crashed while taking off from a grass airstrip near Taylor, about 15 kilometres southeast of Fort St. John, said Chris Krepski, a TSB spokesman.
Both occupants were fatally injured when the plane hit the ground then caught fire, Krepski said. It is not yet known if the two died on impact.
Investigators will now examine the wreckage, the maintenance records of the plane and the experience of the pilot in a bid to determine what went wrong, Krepski said.
