They broke apart east of some bad weather, assuming that the image on Flightaware correctly shows were that bad weather actually was.

They were on their way to a fishing lodge 70 miles north east of Thompson. I ran into them last year and had a good chat with the pilot. Really nice guy and a great looking airplane.

6 men and probably typical fly in camp fishing gear.....probably would have been on the heavy side.

They went IFR from Winnipeg to Thompson last year with 6 + lots of gear. Your guess is probably accurate.

it was a 421C and with a VG kit installed it would more than likely be under gross.

-129lbs is maybe two typical fishing gear bags.

I flew it in 1981. Actually surprised they are still in service. Looking forward to that sad accident report. Airplanes breaking apart is rather uncommon.

without the facts you are an ambulance chaser at best. Did the A/C have a Ram conversion ? What was the payload ?
