Buses at the airport
Where do they find the buses to bus people to the terminal when a plane crashes or is disabled on the runway?

BusMart?
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience often comes from bad judgment.
Re: Buses at the airport
There are a few scattered around for use. Do you remember these?:

Remember using them at Mirabel and Dulles in Washington. I believe Dorval has some(perhaps the old Mirabel ones).
Now the question of the day...what is the purpose of the two tall "camel humps" on them?

I guess it's where they put the hydraulic rams to lift the passenger cabin up to aircraft floor level.
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

Well, if you’re at YYZ, you shouldn’t have to worry.

I remember riding cobus transporters for the first time about 15 years ago at Baden, they still look the same now at Pearson.Matterhorn White wrote: ↑Tue Jun 05, 2018 2:18 pm cobus bro... you didn’t know?

They used somewhat similar busses to get people from the departure gate to the airplane and vice versa when all the air bridges were full at the Edmonton International airport years ago.
But where do all the school busses come from all of a sudden when passengers have to use the escape slides during an "event" out on the runway? I cannot imagine sun and fun vacationers having to walk a couple of miles across the airport in -20C weather in the middle of winter.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Read the TSB report on the AC HZ “hard landing.” It took quite a while to round up buses for the pax.

Ah, precisely. Wearing pants and closed toed shoes is always a good idea when traveling to a cold destination. The odds are pretty low for an egress but it does happen. We could go on and on about proper attire, that's just a losing battle though.
Re: Buses at the airport
Back in the '60's there was a problem with mostly government passengers showing up to fly in a single engine VFR only charter bush airplane to remote destinations wearing clothing appropriate for their downtown offices but not adequate for northern conditions. Finally the chief pilot put his foot down and refused service till adequate winter clothing was worn.
A few weeks ago we had a big dump of snow and very cold weather and I saw a guy walk into Walmart wearing flip flops on bare feet and shorts.
Now if any of you charter pilots were chartered to fly people into outer bumf*&^k in a single and a passenger showed up dressed in shorts and flip flops, would you refuse to fly them until they were to produce clothing appropriate to the weather conditions and if the passengers refused and the worst happened, would you be willing to share your nice warm parka. The same can be said about sun and fun vacationers retuning home to the great white frozen north. How much responsibility does the airline carry in a situation where an airplane becomes stranded far from the terminal building during our sometimes very cold weather.
