I saw that this morning and figured it was from a few years ago or something. Haha. Instagram #1 news source of the north.

Does anyone know where the 'Wheels down" as in 'What is your wheels down time? or as Illya says 'Wheels down in five" came from. I think I've only heard that in northern Manitoba.

Pretty sure I’ve heard that all over, including in many a Hollywood movie.

I’ve heard it everywhere.

Thank god for GPWS. I’ll never have to worry about Doc chewing me out. ;)

It's to avoid confusion about whether your estimate is what the GPS is currently showing or how long until you are actually touching down.

Everybody uses it instead of “Fort Whatever in Five.....”. Like nobody is intelligent enough to know that means LANDING......DOH. WTF else would it mean? Makes you look pretty stunned when your wheeels never actually go down?

BTW, DOC sends his best. Confirm three green.

What a ridiculous thing to get worked up about. Pretty sure I hear Encore and Jazz both say this regularly when flying into non towered airports. I guess they're all unprofessional.

I've always wondered if it's like the chicken or the egg paradox?
Are they twisted and bitter because they got left behind, or did they get left behind because they are twisted and bitter?

Or maybe neither.

Remember, kids... there’s lots of awesome 703/704 jobs out there... while at the same time there’s plenty of absolutely awful 705 gigs. Choose lifestyle... not tin and definitely not operating rules. ;)
