A great well written story. Here is another view of the Albatross with a photo I took in 1977.

Once Lost, now Found - about 47 years ago!

An interesting story but it used to be well known in the Yukon / northern BC aviation community. I was based in Atlin in 1971 and spotted the weckage on a trip near the Devil's Paw mountain which is near the Llewyan Glacier. I asked Herman Peterson ( please google him) a northern BC aviation legend who lived in Atlin. Herman told me the entire story about the Albatross accident. I did not find anything new on the web site.

Crazy that the DoD wouldn't tell the family anything.
