Just use speakers?
Most likely something he ordered from overseas for cheap and was ignorant of the requirement to be ic or FCC compliant.

So... His equipment wasn't interfering. You did read the article right? After receiving the notice, which cites Canada’s Radiocommunications Act, Baker says he invited federal officials inside his home to check out the radio equipment.
“They found out it wasn’t interfering with any of the stations they’re using
Re: K-W radio interference
Derek Mellon, a spokesperson for ISED, told CTV Kitchener that the order was made after “several interferences reported by aircraft prior to landing at Kitchener/Waterloo airport.”
Re: K-W radio interference
I find it improbable that an FM band transmitter with a range of 150 feet would have spurious signals in the next band up (118-138 MHz) strong enough to be a concern, much less heard by aircraft. Weird story.

Probably some transport Canada dufus was looking at his light display and decided to flex his might, being already grumpy that his wife dragged him out of the house to look at xmas lights.
Re: K-W radio interference
Nope. TC has nothing to do with radio stuff. It's the Spectrum Management branch of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, formerly known as Industry Canada.
You can thank me later.

Maybe one of his neighbors thought it might be a good way to get him to quiet down by blaming the local pilotsjakeandelwood wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 10:15 am Probably some transport Canada dufus was looking at his light display and decided to flex his might, being already grumpy that his wife dragged him out of the house to look at xmas lights.
Truthfully, the neighbors across from my Mom and Dad had this a number of years ago, and I thought it would drive us nuts. That bing-bing-bing child's xylophone type music is quite cute in time with the flashing lights when you drive by and stop for a few minutes, but when you can hear it inside for hours on end, it makes you want to rip your ears off!
