Amazing it's in one piece with all those trees around
Re: Plane incident at golf course in Langley
C-GTYR, a Cessna 152 aircraft operated by Skyquest Aviation, was conducting a local training
flight from Langley Regional (CYNJ), BC with an instructor and a student-pilot on board.
Approximately 0.5 nm on the initial climb after the departure from Runway 19, the engine power
reduced to 2000 RPM. The instructor advised ATC of a power loss as the aircraft was not climbing,
took over control and prepared for a forced landing; the aircraft crashed into trees just off the end
of the runway, across the road south southwest of the airport. Emergency services attended and
assisted both occupants, who were uninjured. The aircraft received substantial damage. Fuel was
observed leaking from a ruptured fuel tank, and was contained by local firefighters.
The occurrence aircraft had been involved in a request for priority landing due to a loss of power
event, the day before the accident.

Yeah, it's surprisingly in one piece. Expected bits to be gone for sure.jakeandelwood wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 9:33 am Amazing it's in one piece with all those trees around

Well done to the instructor.
Good judgment comes from experience. Experience often comes from bad judgment.
