A sad end for this HS125
I'm sure this is rather common in that part of the world....still - it breaks my heart to see good airplanes wasted like that.

I don't get it....maybe because I'm not a criminal....but what good does it do to torch these things?

Re: A sad end for this HS125
It's probably been flown well beyond operating limitations numerous times, and there's the fact that there's going to be little market for an aeroplane used for drug running - torch it, and claim the "insurance" money.
Re: A sad end for this HS125
I think there's little to no market for any of the early stovepipe biz jets, hence why they are put to use in this way..

Possibly getting rid of things like fingerprints and DNA.
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business
Re: A sad end for this HS125
Fair enough....but why not just keep using them? Fly in, dump the dope, fly out and get another load.Possibly getting rid of things like fingerprints and DNA.
Fly them once and torch them??
Re: A sad end for this HS125
A) a lot of times they are flown into places they can land but not take off from
B) lets say its 5000 lbs of cocaine in the plane, a quick google search from last year says thats worth 69 million USD so the risk of it being used for evidence isn't worth it probably.

It isn't worth 69,000,000 USD at that point. It looks like it is a long way away from the street still..... but that may be rural Georgiafish4life wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 11:21 pmA) a lot of times they are flown into places they can land but not take off from

Re: A sad end for this HS125
Nothing new. Belize News reported that so far this year they have caught 6 jets landing on highways; of which there are few in Belize. Rough strips are being used as well, as they are one-way trips for a good part. Lots of old HS-125's and G II's
