Take a trip out to the 'Hat and pop in is my advice. You'll just get the brush-off from the girl in the office at YYC.

Re: BAR XH
Every dealing I've had with Bar XH has been great. All of the crew I've talked to have nothing but great things to say about the company. I helped them get a wounded BE20 off my airport a while back, and the crew said they would pass my name along to the CP should I want to work for them.
Not a time building company for sure, and you are on call which can be either good or bad. I believe most pilots are based in Calgary, but I would only work there if I could live in the Hat.

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

If you can't fly for AB health you'd almost guaranteed have to start in YXH. As far as I know nobody in YYC has the power to hire pilots directly as the CP, Ops manager, and all of management are in the hat. They do hire rampies or instructors and work them into charters or medevacs as needed, but most of both come from their own school.

Great organization and good people. Not necessarily a lot of flying but it is consistent with the medevac and charter operations. I don't believe they hire anyone who does not meet the Alberta Health requirements for scheduling convenience.
Hiring is done out of Medicine Hat but I believe the pilot base is equally split between YYC and YXH. Starting position is usually F/O on the King Air 200 as it is the core of their fleet. The smallest plane is now a Navajo Chieftain as I believe the flight school was sold off and is no longer part of the organization.

I doubt they're hiring as most times I call they won't let me talk to the CP. However when I did get through he was a really nice guy on the phone.
