The Hiring Tsunami numbers updates:
Dear Fellow Airmen,
Greetings. It might feel like things are slowing down, but I can reassure you they are not. I think a couple of HR departments and training departments might be overwhelmed right now. They better got used to this. I got message that Jazz has 8 months to recruit 150 pilots approx. Again, that number will probably grow next year. So fear not, even though you might be laid off...this is not 2009-2013 anymore!

You know what Sky, that's super encouraging to say. Thanks for putting it like that.

The only caveat is we are one interest rate hike away from a housing meltdown followed by possible layoffs with almost guaranteed hiring freezes.

Doesn't everyone calculate their mortgage at double the current interest rate? I did.
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

I'll stick to renting for now. Wait for the big crash. Or not... either way I'd rather pay my $1000/mo and invest my money in other ventures.

I thought those years were pretty good...this is not 2009-2013 anymore!
You should have tried 2001-2005 that was one heck of a skid...
And it's booming now... I flew with a guy the other day that told me some 250 hour college grads from his daughter's class got offered direct into 737 FO jobs and turned them down because they wanted something better... WTF.
Re: The Hiring Tsunami numbers updates:
Better than a 737 FO job out of school? Are they delirious?
