Regional FO here. Aside from doing as much overtime as I can I also do web and app development for local businesses and also drive uber.

Been doing it since I started. But my side jobs know there's a risk I have to leave mid shift to go aviate.

I make more money two days trucking than two weeks of work as an F/O haha.

If you work for a company that has a lot of OT, go do that and get your hours up. Then you can get on the Captain payscale quicker, and maybe move up in the world to a company that pays better.

Don’t take a low paying job to start with? There are plenty of F/O jobs that pay pretty well these days. Make a budget and live within your means. You’ll never make enough (life style creep).

As a semi-retired military pilot with a civilian job now, my current employer allows me to fly with the military reserve part-time on the condition that it does not interfere with my conditions of employment.

So yeah, I'd say it's possible.

Depends on which province you're in but I know people here in Manitoba have done supply teaching, which is a pretty good gig (you don't need a teaching certificate in Manitoba to do it).
