North Cariboo job add

Post by Instructor013 »

Does anyone have any current info on north Cariboo air for the 1900 captain. Like schedule, pay, days off, upgrade times to 705. Everything I am finding is old info on here.
Thanks.

Schedule is 5 on 2 off (sort of) or they may want you to do 10 and 4. Sort of because your weekend doesn't start till 4 am saturday morning.
Pay is bad. Have a look at the Contrails requirements on here if you don't meet them it's worse than bad.
There is no flow to the 705 world except for FOs, there has been exactly 1 captain position go to a 1900 guy in the last 9 years and he's a Cariboo lifer.

If you can get past all of that and just have to be in YYC, and Sunwest isn't hiring (they pay 20K more per year), then it is a great company full of great people. Ops, maintenance, dispatch, ramp, the FO's, Captains, CSAs, etc all great to work with. The 1900's are really well maintained, zero MELs for the most part, and 2 have autopilots. All flights are done to full balanced field/ net takeoff flight path standards with full TLR's done (by you) every leg.

The 200's are such pieces of garbage I can't believe the oil companies let their execs fly in them. All straight 200's with timed out -41's that barely make power. They always have MELs, and recurring defects out the wazoo, and you will get dual typed, if they say otherwise they are lying to your face.

Training is all at Flight Safety, Seattle for the 1900, Long Beach CA for the 200. Training is really good. Full one week groundschool in house for each type with lunch at the port o call provided.
