Voyageur Airways
Can anyone provide any information on working conditions, schedule, pay, etc. about Voyageur beyond that in past threads?
Also, can anyone provide any insight on the interview process? What type of questions do they ask etc.?
Thanks

It s the usual stuff in the intervie. Can i work with this peson on a six day pairing and will they try to kill me ? Will they listen to the captains and can we make this person a captin sooner rather than later. Movement has been pretty fast lately from right to left. Min time is perfered to have 2000 total and 500 MPIC, for MOH contract. Bases are Norht Bay, Timmins, Sioux Lookout. You have to be willing to live in one of these places and put up with the sometimes neccassry schedule changes that are required from time to time because of people leaving or training. If you are not inerested in living in one of thses places full time do us and your self a favor and DON'T APPLY. The out bases are a good place to be away from the queen bee and as long as everything is done correctly noone looks over yuor shoulder.
As for the interview itself goes study your IFR and CAP GEN safety is a big focus in the interview and what type of person are you ? Usually 2 or 3 people in the interview I think good bunch of guys that do the interviews so just relax and answer the questions if you don't know admit it and leave your ego at the door.
As far as the schedules go it is not to bad depends on staffing levels from time to time more people better schedule less people poorer schedule. The YTS base is pretty good the person who makes the schedule trried to accomodate all time off requests best as can be.
If you want more info PM.

A100 Captain $36000/yr
A100 FO $24000/yr
B200 Captain $50000/yr (goes up every year and tops at $60000)
B200 FO $26000/yr
Dash 7/8 Captain $55000 (to start...survey captains on the 7 make more)
Dash 7/8 FO $36000/yr
These figures may have changed especially for the Dash fleet

I just got off the phone with a 'friend' that stopped there one time out of 3
road trips he did back in the mid 90's.
They seem to have a good safety record, however when he stopped in to
drop off a resume, the office staff sent the janitor down to get his
resume at the front door.
This is the reason why I opted to get into management.
a) Treat people with respect.
b) Safety is priority #1.

How far up in management?stevewilson wrote:New man at the helm now which hopefully will improve point "1".
IMHO, he will only be successful at doing his job if the owners stay out of
the business of aviation, and let the professionals do their jobs without prejudice.
Eitherway...anything is better than driving coast to coast to coast and
being greeted by a janitor. Pilots sometimes forget their roots.
I wish him well, and go out of your way to thank him from time to time.
Because it sounds like he is going out of his way to make your job easier. I know he'll appreciate
it.
Treatment of Employees
Voyageur Airways management needs a lesson on how to treat there employees. I have been talking with people from all bases at the present time, and it seems very few people are happy.
Trust and Voyageur Airways
Don't trust voyageur airways management. If you are doing overseas contracts you will spend a lot more time away then what you are promised. If you are promised a fast upgrade to captain this will also not happen. They want you to sign a training bond in order to ensure you keep your promises but they do not honour the same.
City's first point is true; there is a very good chance of being extended on an overseas tour. The worst part is that nobody ever knows WTF is going on. City's second point is not true; Voyageur is a Captain heavy airline. There tends to be alot of co-captain work due to the nature of the rotations so they want to upgrade people sooner rather than later. But most importantly, what is generally being said with regards to Voyageur management on this thread is bang on. Employees are bullied, not respected. They are told what to do, not asked to do favours. Just look at how often they post job opportunities on this website. People have no trouble leaving this company.
