2 weeks On, 2 weeks Off... Or more!
Hi guys!
I'm just trying to find thoses companies where you can get a good rotation... I am more looking at something like "2 weeks On - 2 weeks Off", "3 On - 3 Off" or even "2 months On - 1 month Off" kind of thing... As long as I wouldn't be "on call" during my days off and I could really use them to do something else...
Thanks in advance for your inputs!
Termerair
Feel free to complete the list. Here is my start...
Keewatin : 2 weeks On, 2 weeks Off
Voyageur : 2 months Off, 1 month Off (when over in Africa)
Borek : 3 weeks On, 3 weeks Off (when flying in the North)
Air Inuit : 2 weeks On, 2 weeks Off

Great post for those who may be stuck in one physical location due to circumstances beyond one's control.
Don't forget the Geophysical survey companies when you're looking for rotations.
Terraquest
Sander Geophysics
Fugro
From what I know the rotations can vary greatly depending on the job and ferrying factors. But you do get that rotation.

Aires, out of Calgary (Springbank actually). One month on, one month off.
Air Mikisew out of Ft. McMurray on the King Air 200 medevac. They also may have crew housing when you're up there. Ooops, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.

The other thing to consider here is that just because a rotation isn't advertised, doesn't mean it isn't negotiable.
The old days of "take it or leave it" from the employer perspective are pretty well coming to an end (at least for the time being).
If you see a good job, but the rotation either isn't specified or isn't acceptable, then why not specify it?
There's at least one operator here who's being pretty creative in their pilot recruiting. If they got a candidate who was fully qualified for Ornge, I'd be surprised if a rotation couldn't be worked out.
I dont' have any inside information or hidden agenda here. I'd simply like to see the industry standard progress to 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off or longer.
I'm also not totally opposed to 1 week on, 1 week off out of a major urban centre.
Now's the time for us to make this happen.

Not to be nitty gritty, but its 15 on, 13 off, and when your rotating in and out its not really on passes its on garanteed seats most of the time. Then you do get the airline passses after 6 months.First Air for the YFB base is 2 weeks/ 2 weeks and you get travel passes to get home.

Re: 2 weeks On, 2 weeks Off... Or more!
Sorry to revive an old thread, but does anyone know if there are any rotational gigs out there that take low time pilots (less than 500TT) aside from SkyCare and Wasaya’s recent postings? I’m not necessarily talking about gigs where they fly you to and from the base, but any company that has a schedule along the lines of 2 weeks on/2 off or similar.

Unfortunately low time pilots don’t really get to pick… anyway skycare doesn’t have 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, you don’t get good schedule until you’re a metro captain.yowflyer23 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 6:36 pm Sorry to revive an old thread, but does anyone know if there are any rotational gigs out there that take low time pilots (less than 500TT) aside from SkyCare and Wasaya’s recent postings? Perimeter pilots work 16 days a month and if you bid your days off right you can get 10 days off in a row, i know it’s not 2 weeks but better than nothing
