What companies in Canada will offer travel benefits other that the majors?

A question to ask is what kind of travel benefits do you want? Most companies will offer some kind of cheap/free ride for employees on company aircraft, but that may not do you much good if your company's only destinations have Fort or Lake in their name. Benefits with other airlines vary too... Are you talking Jumpseat agreements, which generally only apply to pilots, or ID50 or ID90 type fares that can be used by friends and family, as well as yourself. There are several other systems, depending on the company. In most cases a company must have some kind of scheduled service to qualify for a reciprocal agreement.

At the same time, don't pick a company solely on the benefits. Find a place that you'd like to work (and will hire you!) and consider any benefits icing on the cake!

I would consider benefits more than just icing on the cake. I wouldn't choose based solely on passes, but narrow down companies that do provide travel benefits and chose one of those, sure. It is something that may be more important to some than others (family abroad, moving to new city, etc)

Most ZED agreements won't let you travel on their airline unless you've been employed for 6 months, it's not the Canadian company setting that rule for the most part.

I'll add Canadian North into the mix, zed's with many carriers world wide.

Plus on all these carriers mentionned you can Jumpseat right away. People often get confused with the jumpseat vs. standby passes. You can jumpseat right away but it's a painful process through the AC 1-800 number, but way cheaper too. To each their own.

Wasaya has reciprocal jumpseat agreements with Air Canada, Jazz, Georgian, Sky regional, Rouge, Air Transat, First Air and Bearskin. They also have passes with Westjet.
