We are currently seeking full-time Stores Person to join our team in Calgary, AB (YYC).



Position Overview:


Reporting to the Procurement & Inventory Manager or designate, the Stores Person responsible for the organizing, coordinating, and accounting of the YYC inventory of aviation parts, tools and equipment to ensure proper stocking levels for the organization’s aircraft repair and maintenance plan.



Primary Responsibilities:



Accept requests for aviation parts, supplies, and other equipment. Fills orders and/or initiates purchase order requests as required;
Controls the release of inventory and tooling assets, and ensures the security and integrity of property located in the stockroom;
Responsible for processing, handling, issuing and tracking of parts and materials used by the Maintenance Department. Delivers such items to the hangar floor or staging areas as required;
Enters and retrieves data using computerized systems to maintain and update a variety of files, records, logs, reports, inventory control sheets and other documents for aircraft parts, tooling and maintenance;
Reviews packing slips and vendor documentation on received parts. Identifies, verifies, counts and processes all incoming orders;
Maintains basic knowledge of aircraft parts certification and traceability requirements;
Identifies discrepancies and damaged materials and reports them to the supervisor for corrective action. Completes and maintains count sheets and other required reports and documentation during receipt;
Prepares parts and materials for shipment to repair stations, vendors or out bases by both air and ground transport. Ensures all shipments are packaged correctly and in accordance with TDG regulations if required. Maintains tracking records for both inbound and outbound materials;
Handles and stores hazardous materials in compliance with established policies, procedures, A-OSH, and relevant regulations;
Performs general duties such as Local Parts runs, unloading trucks, operating forklifts and pallet jacks (and related equipment), placing and storing parts, and unpacking and packing parts;
Assist with the afterhours movement or receipt of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) parts as required;
Ensure that safety precautions are being observed on assigned activities while maintaining a clean and orderly work area; and
such other duties as assigned by the company from time to time.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Completion of high school or equivalent;
Valid Canadian Driver’s License, class 5 or equivalent:
Minimum two years (2) previous experience working in a general aviation or charter setting;
Ability to obtain and maintain Driver’s Airside (D/A) license within six (6) months of employment start date;
Must be able to lift 40lbs – 50lbs; heavy lifting is required;
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook);
Complete and pass Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Quality Control (QC) training;
Ability to work irregular hours or shift work that may include evenings, weekends and holidays, with a schedule that varies;
Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, shipping and receiving information;
Demonstrated problem solving, attention to detail, accuracy and time management skills;
Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a time sensitive environment;
Strong verbal and written communication skills; including interpersonal communication;
Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team;
Ability to travel occasionally as required; possibly on short notice;
Training and/or experience in inventory management and purchasing is an asset;
Knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s) as they apply to 705 operations is an asset;
Knowledge of aircraft parts is preferred; knowledge of common hardware is essential;
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
Legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction; and
Clear Canadian criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
