Flair Airlines is a Canadian airline headquartered in Kelowna, BC with bases in BC, Alberta, and Ontario. Our company operates scheduled domestic passenger services and charters in Canada, USA, and internationally.



We are currently seeking a full-time Airport Services Manager to join our team in Toronto, Ontario.



Position Overview:


Reporting to the Director of Airport Services, the Airport Services Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of front and back of house activity through close management of ground handling vendors. This role has a strong focus on operational and safety objectives, in addition to ensuring an extremely high standard of customer and internal services is delivered and targets are achieved.

Working Conditions:

The incumbent typically works in an office environment. Frequent travel may be required. The position will require prolonged periods of sitting, and using office equipment and computers. Long periods of intense concentration may be required. Position may require moving from a sitting to standing position, bending, stooping, and reaching, twisting, grasping, and lifting 5 to 20 lbs. The incumbent may also be required to work outside in all weather conditions while overseeing ground handling functions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the oversight of ground handling vendor functions, including performance, training and development, ensuring ground handling and customer service standards are met at all times;
Achieve ground handling performance targets set by Airport Services such as flight punctuality, check-in standards and baggage delivery times. This will be achieved through regular liaison with the management of Handling Agents and other service suppliers in order to identify problem areas and find solutions to them;
Delivery of both front and back of house customer service, operational, ramp and baggage, safety goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
Contribution to the continual enhancement of front of house and ramp performance against agreed operational, health and safety, and customer service goals, objectives and KPIs including short-term and long-term business planning;
Implementing and strengthening organizational culture including service culture, operating style and safety;
Establishes, builds and maintains pertinent relationships with vendors, internal customers, and airport officials;
Such other duties as assigned by the company from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and related experience will be considered;
Two to five years of airline operational management experience required;
Demonstrated management ability through a history of progressive leadership roles;
Experience with dealing in a complex, lean business environment and engaging with, and influencing stakeholders at all managerial levels, both internally and externally;
Exposure to air safety legislations, CATSA regulatory requirements and experience managing audit programs will be highly regarded;
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references;
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite; particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel;
Ability to assess priorities and problem solve under pressure of competing demands;
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s); and
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
