Vancouver paramedic on verge of quitting due to protests

Post by dialdriver »

The paramedic, whose identity CBC has agreed to keep confidential, says it was an emergency call during the protests that pushed her to the edge.

"I watched someone start to bleed to death when they didn't have to, when time would have made all the difference in the world," she said. "That was my last straw."

The problem is, even in cases such as this where there's absolutely no reason why the individual could not be identified - simply to put a human face to the story, it's actually against BCAS/BCEHS policy for employees to speak to the media; and the paramedic in question would potentially be fired for doing so...

Anyhow, while people absolutely have the right to protest whatever the @#$! they want to; these protests in front of healthcare facilities were absolutely tone deaf. Hearing how hospital staff, paramedics, and patients were berated by belligerent idiots is sickening.

What's even more embarrassing, is the impotent response from the VPD who do absolutely SFA to get this group of mouth breathing troglodytes away from the hospital. But, god have mercy on a lefty environmentalist protesting old growth logging; they're eating asphalt so fast they don't even know what hit them.
