Does anyone know what // means after wind direction and speed as in:
18045G45//KT.
My 1967 “From The Ground Up” doesn’t have the answer.
This was in a metar issued for Red Lake about 5 hours ago. Apparently a DHC-3T was damaged while tied up in Howey Bay.

If you look at the METAR closer, you’ll see WND ESTD in RMK section.
Multiple slashes in METARs or weather reports in general mean “missing” data. In this case they were unable to determine what the wind was gusting to. It seems like earlier in the day they were able to do it though.
