float pay

Post by mr.aviation »

What is the going rate this summer for float pay in Ontario?
The salary's have gone up a crazy amount every year and just looking to see what people are paying this summer?
I know almost all give you housing and some do food as well but what should you expect on a:
DHC3-T /208?
DHC-2?
180/185/206?
CUB and other minnow planes?
Thanks

Given the insurance hike in the float world I would anticipate wages stagnating for a year or so on the bushier aircraft types.

I was making 3000 a month, flying C185 in Southern MB. I was also based in a reserve. First flying job. No health benefits. I was hired with 14 hours on floats.

Researching the current(not 10 yrs ago) market value of your services is part of doing business. So which point of view mentioned is the entitled one?

I'm not kidding. That's what I made back then. You know me personally enough to know that I have no reason. To lie to you. Times are changing (from circa 2010) what I wrote back on my last post is 100% truthful.

Who is old grey mare anyways? She or the notion seems antiquated!

Made 4.5 a month with accommodations first year on a Beaver with 4K total time, 2010. Made 5.5 the following year and 6-7.5 after that. Have made between 6.5 and 11K a month on an Otter.

Thank you all who answered. Hopefully this helps everyone starting out or getting on a new plane get a fair wage this summer. Hopefully the virus goes away before it shuts down the season.
