J-Christophe I flew for Avalon Aviation in the early 80's. I never flew CRR but worked along side it in Northern Saskatchewan on many fires. I was told that it is the only Canadian Registered Aircraft to sink more than 1 German U-Boat in WW 2. Apparently it was credited with torpedoing 2 of them. I know that it has been sunk a couple of times but don't know the details. When we were in Northern Saskatchewan in 1984 it ran up on the shore while trying to scoop a load out of a short glassy water lake. The military brought in a Chinook Helicopter, picked it up and carried it to the Buffalo Narrows Airport. There was no damage to the aircraft as it was a bog with a few small black spruce trees at the end of the lake. It was quite a sight to see that big plane hooked up under a Chinook.

ozone, I really like your first pic, the orangy light one! Wow. Makes me want to be there, at that exact moment.
Thanks! It was very early morning. A thunderstorm was just passing by as the sun was coming up. Can't beat float flying...you see something different every day! The countdown is on for next season!
Staunton Lake?

Ok, this *is* an aviation board, and thus the cool helicopter pics.
How about some real pics tho: bluebird days, fresh snow, and skiers ripping it up!

I concur... One looks at the fantastic photographs that "Sky's the limit" posts it makes me think of a Mike Wiegele photo op...
Just saying....

Late spring in nunavik, almost feels like the maldives.
This is finally summer but the moskitoes are out, you can see one of them is chasing us. They tend to get pretty big around here....
Happy to contribute

I really like the docked Beaver shot Rowdy. Great capture of a solitary atmosphere.

I saw him at the Chapleau town dump last summer. He seems to spend some time at his lodge on Five Mile Lake in summer, but he is not operating or maintaining the outpost camps.
