Group 1 Training

Post by Pilot@123 »

Hey,

I'm looking to do my Group 1 this winter. I have no preference as to where in Canada I do it. Just somewhere where I can get good training. Anyone have some recommendations or tips?

Thanks!

You can get your Group 1 much faster in the summer time, IMO. Either way, I hear Cornwall does good work.

I've heard really good things about ProIFR in Victoria... I'm probably going there in the fall this year...

Great. Thanks. I'll look into it. I would do it in the summer but I am working.

I had figured that was the case. For your own planning, remember that the vast majority of the light twins out there in the training fleet are not certified for flight into known icing. This means that if you'll be operating above the freezing level you'll be restricted to VFR only. Making it worse, unless you go somewhere hellishly cold, winter always seems to be cloudier than summer.
