ATPL Question Re : Flight Attendants

Post by goose_68 »

Just studying for the SARON exam and having a little trouble finding info on the Flight attendants specific details

1. Minimum number of passengers before a flight attendant is required ?
2. what documents / manual are flight attendants required to carry on board the plane ?

Any help with cars references would be appreciated

705.139 for the manual and 705.201 for the number of flight attendants required.

I don’t think it would be on the exams but 40 pax per FA although most companies have an excemption to run 1 FA per 50 seats.

Only manual I could think of would be a Flight Attendant Manual

It has definitely not changed to 1 in 50 in Canada. The rule is 1 in 40. There is an exemption to that rule that allows 1 in 50 but it has additional requirements.

You don’t know what you’re talking about
Read CARs 705.201
It’s up to the operator to choose 1:40 or 1:50
No longer exemptions required
CUPEs are requesting the 1:50 to be scrapped
So far there is no interest from the grits to touch it

So we're both wrong :). Thank you for the correction. I see the 1 in 50 is still for seats so I guess the silly rules about F/As not being able to step 1 foot off the plane still apply.

See 705.222 for requirements during boarding and 705.223 station stops.
