Clarification for Height Requirements

Post by tricky »

So basically, I'm considering a pilot job for my career and I really have this complicated feelings as I'm only 5'2 tall person. I want to know if there are any height requirements for the major and regional airlines here in Canada and also those small charter airlines. Thank you for your help.

p.s i really need to know this since i don't want to waste any resources if my height is not good enough for being a pilot. :c

There are no height requirements. My wife is 5’2” and hasn’t had any problems.

You have to be able to reach the controls and see out the windows. Go for a fam flight and see for yourself. If you fit in a 152 you'll fit in anything.

There are height requirements for flight attendants, since they have to be able to reach the overhead bins but not be so tall as to constantly bump their heads.

Even the northern jobs where you have to load the aircraft yourself, I have seen done by less tall folks without issue. Don't even consider it a hurdle, just go for it. You'll be fine!
