Cat 1 medical

Post by EGW »

I recently obtained my first cat 1 medical exam and the AME signed it off as no problem and that no further tests were recommended. However I just received a letter from TC saying otherwise; I require an ecg stress test, a blood lipid panel, and a specific eye test to check for ocular muscle balance. Is this normal for a first time medical? Will I have to continue to book these extra tests every time I renew my medical?

I had my first Cat 1 last year at the age of 53. I had to do an ECG and Audio test but the examiner told me I would need them. I did them, then ran to TC to write my CPL exam.... :-)

Not the other ones you mention.....an examiner thing? Age? Noticed something? or random screening of the AME perhaps?

Hope it works out for you!
