Cpl flight test standards

Post by ShawnR »

I heard the CPL flight test standards changed recently. I can only find a link to a March standard. Anyone know of a link to more recent ones?

They were rewritten in March, and they're changing again?

Next thing is they'll be on a 56 day cycle, like the CFS.

The March AC describes the current policies. The next AC will be issued before any new CPL flight test standards come into effect. I am not at liberty to describe the proposed changes but I think when they are promulgated you will find them reasonable and appropriate and they will not cause instructors to change how they are preparing students for licenses and ratings.

I assume the March AC is this one:
If so, it talks about limiting the number of 2s a candidate can receive on a flight test and still be assessed a pass. CPL flight test will have a maximum of 4 exercises that can be scored as 2 and pass.

I posted a thread about this a number of months back as well.

Basically, it's a change to placate the CAAC because they've found students who scrape by during their training in Canada and then go to China to become career FOs are lousy pilots. Go figure. I "assume" the change is a way of placating both the CAAC and integrated program schools, without having to make any substantive changes to clean up the pilot mill schools...
