CAT 3 Medical Turnaround

Post by bwgilchrist »

Does anyone know offhand, what the turnaround time is right now to get a reply from TC on a new CAT 3 medical?

Don't know if you're still interested, but I took my Cat 1 medical on June 11th and it came in the mail yesterday.

I had a Cat 1 renewal done in March and it wasn't processed until last week.

I had my Cat 3 medical exam in January and got the stamp and signature then. The invoice arrived today. I was starting to wonder...

Do you mind telling me where you are based out of? Are doctors now accepting appointments to renew medicals, given that TC has laid out the attestation form that extends the medical for another year simply by just sending in a piece of paper?

This was a first medical, not a renewal so can't comment on renewals. I'm Vancouver based though and doctors here are taking appointments for medicals.

Oh, ok. I thought for some reason you meant renewal.... ignore please.

I had my first cat 1 done January 15th, and got the sticker in the mail somewhere around the third week of May.

For an applicant in YUL:

CAT3:
June 12th 2019: applied for initial CAT 3.
July 22nd 2019: certificate printed.
End of July 2019: received (Montreal).
--------- Total time, about 2 months ---------

CAT1: ("sticker")
June 1st 2020: applied for CAT 1.
July 24th 2020: certificate printed.
July 30th 2020: received (Montreal).
--------- Total time, about 2 months ---------

Both CAT 1 and CAT 3 took around 2 months to be delivered in my case.

Hope it helps
