Question about Aviation Medical

Post by pilotfromhk »

Hello there and greetings from Hong Kong :)

I have just finished the medical exam in Hong Kong about a month ago and I haven't heard from Transport Canada.

So does anyone know how long does it take to process the medical certificate?
And also after it is issued, would it be sent to my home in a paper form or to my email in a digital one?

Thanks all!

Don't expect any thing for a while. TC offices are very backed up and have a very long processing time now.

What region did you send it to?

I would email the region and ask for an electronic copy to be sent to you. https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/civil- ... ts-offices

Like said above. They are very backed up. I'm thinking 3-6 months.

I had my initial done in January of 2020, and I got my sticker in the mail in May. Expect it to take some time.

And that was before they were shutdown for Covid. Delays are much longer now.

For anyone keeping track of medical processing time: I heard from a Category 3 applicant (uncomplicated) in Ontario region whose exam was on 9 Feb and whose certificate arrived today, March 12. Five weeks isn’t too bad.
