Considering that JAR is going to EU, it's just a rumour...

I know this is a little off topic, but can someone refer this old guy to where you can find information on converting a Canadian license, or validating it, to a JAA.

Tks

CDN CPL to JAR CPL -

Visit: http://www.jaa.nl
Go to Training Office, click licensing, JARS

You want FCL-1 (flight crew licensing)

Go on to read about a non-JAA state licence (ie. "yours" CDN) conversion to a JAA.

Also, in my opinion, don't even bother the conversion unless you hold an EU passport, and have an ATPL.

With an ATPL you'll have to still write the 14 exams, undergoe a medical + a flight test, but, you won't have to complete any of the required 650hr ground school.

Anyways, you can read the document for yourself to make your own judgement; however if you need more info, contact the CAA in the UK, as well as any training outfit over there - such as Atlantic or Oxford (rip).

Oh, and by the way - the answer is "NO". Canada is obviously not an EU memeber state, nor does it have any existing agreement with any of the states - thus the NO.

Thanks. I do have an ATPL and an EU passport, as well as UK validation.
As my final stop, so to speak, was not an EU license, after reading the requirments it was easier to just do a conversion (South Africa) directly.

Thanks again.
