Tailwheel Training
My PA-12-160 (Amateur-Built) is currently undergoing a full-resoration in Ontario. I have some float-time on this a/c but it will be on wheels following the restoration and before I put it back on floats for the trip home next July. I'd like to get some tail-wheel time before heading north.
Can anyone recommend a flight school or private instructor who could give me some training on my own aircraft, preferably in south or central Ontario?

Re: Tailwheel Training
I know Spectrum Airways at Burlington Airpark has a tailwheel aircraft and offers lessons on it. I'm not sure what the stance is on giving lessons on other people's aircraft but it's worth a shot.

Re: Tailwheel Training
- Brampton - Super Cub KDD at brampton flight centre (just checked their website, and KDD is not on the fleet page, maybe call them)
- Collingwood - Citabria at Future Air
- Kitchener - Private Cub (clip wing i think) owned by Jerry Younger (I think).
- St. Thomas - Fleet Canuck at St. Thomas flight centre, not sure if it's serviceable after it's last nose over...
- Desaronto - Citabria, not sure if this one is still around... or who owns it for that matter. Air cadet guys used to use this to get their 10hrs tail for towing.
By no means a complete list, but it should help you get started. I think there's a school in Ottawa that does aerobatic training in a Citabria, so they may be worth looking up too... I did my training at Brampton in KDD, great experience and a fun plane to fly, heel brakes took a bit of getting used to...
Cheers

Re: Tailwheel Training
Get in touch with l_reason for the London, Ontario area. He owns a beautiful Luscombe 8E and taught me how to fly tailwheel. I'm sure he'll teach you when he's not busy bombing around the country in jets.

Re: Tailwheel Training
Call Spectrum Airways (Burlington, ON) and ask for Dennis Simo. Dennis does all of Spectrum's training on their Super Cub, and has lots of experience on many other taildragger types as well, including amatuer built and experimental. They offer flight training on your own aircraft, no problem.
