hi,

I have an hotmail account, got an email from HR in 2017 saying that they did receive my application, I refresh my resume twice a year but never heard back from them. Should I send a new application with a gmail account?!

Hello. I interviewed 5 months ago and did receive the email sent out in Oct. Has anyone followed up since that email?

Use to take 10 years to FO wide body. Crazy!!!!
Making 50 grand in the right seat , I think AC pilots should not look any other airline crew in the eyes as we walk by in the terminal.
We suck......

The holidays are coming up, we're slowing down a bit. January we will be picking up again.

I'm a bit surprised foreign carriers aren't actively trying to poach these WB FO new hires after they are trained. All they'd have to do is offer similar schedule and job security beyond a short term contract. Add an industry standard WB wage to that and pension (or pay the pension value and let them self invest) and it would be hard to say no. AC seems to think their ace in the hole is people want to live in Canada but I think that is becoming and less and less the case.

The CEO in front of a large pilot group said ‘if you don’t like it here, you can go fly for Emirates’

Even in the best of times the company isn’t willing to give an inch. Flight ops Managment wants experience in the right seat of a WB, but it doesn’t seem like that message makes it to Montreal.

There are much better operators than Emirates. That kind of statement means he's is pretty out of touch. I'm surprised the boomer didn't say go to Flying Tigers or "Sunwings". Of course he has to maintain the antagonistic labor relation standpoint. Wouldn't want to show any weakness with an reopener coming up.

Really? I don’t know a single pilot that went overseas. Are you saying of all the pilots you know most or at least a large percentage are overseas or planning to go?

With all the crying on this website it’s easy to lose focus that making 200 a year in Canada is pretty sweet. You can do that in 3 years at AC. Or barely work and have an amazing lifestyle and earn less. Hardly perfect but give me a break.

I don’t think there is a single operator in the world that could seduce me to leave. And I’m not alone.

You'd be foolish not to accept a job at somewhere like United, Delta, or American as examples. Where skippers are making the equivalent of $500k+ CAD plus other bonuses like fully company paid pension. I'm sure there are carriers in Europe and Asia where the locals do just as well. Will they ever open their borders to us? Probably not, or if they do it will be on a contract basis with reduced conditions. But a guy can dream.
