YWG Commuting

I'm new to the commuting game and curious if anyone past or present had and tips or advice for someone new to commuting. I'll be YYZ based and recently I've been looking at the loads and most look oversold. Obviously the 737 MAX has a bit to do with this? Lets say you have a flight the next day what is the process of getting yourself down to YYZ?
